Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one titles have been won on hard courts
A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his initial trophy for over two years with a win over Frenchman Moutet in the Almaty Open title decider.
Medvedev, a former number one, has endured a difficult period, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.
His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in specific - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and eventually splitting with long-time trainer Cervara.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, Medvedev has steadily advanced in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought three-set victory over opponent Corentin Moutet.
This marks the player's maiden trophy since the Italian tournament and first on a hard surface since spring of the previous year.
Success also signifies he has won 21 victories at twenty-one distinct competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is particularly special," commented ranked player the champion.
"This title is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my first daughter her name was delivered was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six title deciders, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.
His defensive strategy and recurring reactions on court had led commentators to wonder if his capacity to perform at the elite level was concluded.
But the athlete has altered his approach in the past month, striving to come to the net and play aggressively, supported by an improved service.
Medvedev came back from a break down in the initial set against the difficult opponent, taking 4 of the concluding five exchanges to take the lead.
The pair exchanged breaks in the following set before the Frenchman, attempting for his initial professional victory, seized the initiative to force a third set.
He defended four early-game break points in a close final set before Medvedev broke to that score to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev earned victory with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to control a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
